The Process - Part 2:
What you need to know.
Section A - Biomes
In this section, you will determine the types of terrestrial biomes and some of the alternate names given to certain biomes. You will find out why different scientists classify biomes in varying ways. Divide the work up equally among your group members. This will be completed in your group's Google Doc, using the Resources below. Use the comments and IM feature of the Google Doc to collaborate.

Section B - Your Biome's Features
Your group will collect information on your biome according to the four scientific roles as outlined below. You can either take these roles as given when you were assigned to a group by the teacher or you can distribute the roles among yourselves in such a way that nobody feels pressured. Click on the type of scientist you are in your group to learn about what you study. Using the Resources given below, collect information for your role on the data sheet provided in your group's Google Doc. Be sure to read and comment on your group member's data sheets as well.
BotanistPlant scientist who determines the main types of plants in your biome and at least five adaptations these plants have that allow them to live in your biome. You should have at least one of each of the three types of adaptation.
ZoologistAnimal scientist who determines the main types of animals in your biome and at least five adaptations these animals have that allow them to live in your biome. You should have at least one of each of the three types of adaptation.
ClimatologistWeather and climate scientist who determines the temperature, precipitation patterns in your biome. You need to find at least two climatographs of cities in your biome to show these patterns. You will also collect information on severe and unusual weather happenings in your biome.
Physical GeographerEarth scientist who will determine the type of soil in your biome, the land features such as the lay-of-the-land whether it is mountainous, rocky, flat, lots of lakes, etc. You will find out the general latitude and proximity to oceans of your biome.
